About the Role

The Public Safety Officer is a vital member of the NCH Healthcare System team, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and investigate incidents, including arson, theft, and vandalism.
  • Respond to emergency calls and disasters, providing assistance and support as needed.
  • Investigate unusual incidents and complete thorough reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Operate NCH vehicles in accordance with system rules and regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and successful DMV check required.
  • Basic Security Certification from IAHSS within one year from hire and renewed every 2 years.
  • CPR/AED certification within one year from hire.
