The Business AI team, part of the Office of the CEO, serves as a technical center of excellence, delivering essential AI capabilities for use by product teams and organizations throughout SAP.
We are at the forefront of AI/ML technology, developing applications that utilize large language models and integrating AI/ML features into our business applications.
Our goal is to enhance all business applications with intelligent capabilities.
We are tasked with creating innovative lighthouse applications powered by AI/ML, integrating these features into existing applications, and equipping SAP, our customers, and partners with machine learning services on our cloud platform.
As the Lead AI Scientist & Architect, you will shape and implement the AI/ML architectural strategy, ensuring the seamless integration of Generative AI capabilities into SAP's ecosystem, including LLM Agents, RAG patterns, and orchestration.
Your role will also involve identifying and assessing emerging technologies and methodologies to improve our AI/ML offerings, as well as leading the design and implementation of scalable solutions.
You will act as a thought leader and subject matter expert in Generative AI within SAP, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as product management, engineering, data science, and research to align AI initiatives with business objectives.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Minimum of 10 years of international professional experience in research and/or software development.
Extensive knowledge and practical experience with Generative AI and large language models.
Proven experience in architecting and deploying large-scale cloud solutions, with a comprehensive understanding of AI, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering principles.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or Scala, along with experience in data science libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn). Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Expertise in designing and implementing machine learning pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.Experience with distributed computing and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) for managing large datasets.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and experience in deploying machine learning models in production settings.
Strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and security considerations in AI/ML projects.Desirable:
Experience in delivering AI/ML solutions within the business applications domain, particularly in enterprise software environments.
Strong understanding of SAP's ecosystem and cloud platform.
Experience across the full lifecycle of AI/ML projects, from ideation and prototype development to production deployment and scaling.
Published research in leading AI/ML conferences or journals.
