We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Fleet Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of diesel equipment.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with our drivers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that our vehicles are properly maintained and meet the highest safety standards.

The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire and wheel repairs, air and air disc brake systems, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience.

As a Heavy Duty Diesel Fleet Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies
  • Identifying root causes of basic failures/conditions and performing repairs as required
  • Ensuring equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being deemed roadworthy
  • Completing thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
  • Installs, replaces, and repairs onboard computers
  • Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure they are in proper operating condition
  • Performing routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness benefits, employee stock purchase plan, 401(k) employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and much more.
