Position Overview
As a key leader within the Pharmacy Department, the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services plays a vital role in aligning with the mission, values, and objectives of Connecticut Children's. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of the pharmacy, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, policies, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Directs the clinical pharmacist functions within the hospital, fostering the development of clinical pharmacy services.
- Provides strategic leadership to the department, ensuring effective management of both human and financial resources in line with organizational policies.
- Collaborates closely with the Director of Pharmacy to maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care.
Team Management
Supervises a dedicated team, including:
- Approximately 16 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Pharmacists
- 1 FTE Assistant Manager of Pharmacy Operations
- Participates in an on-call rotation with pharmacy leadership.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a PharmD is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of five to ten years in a hospital pharmacy setting, with supervisory experience and pediatric knowledge preferred.
Licensure:
- A current Pharmacist's license from the State of Connecticut is mandatory.
- Board Certification in a relevant specialty is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive understanding of pharmacy operations, state and federal regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and pharmacy information systems.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.
