We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Enrichment Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. As a Youth Enrichment Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children in our before and after school programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a wide range of enrichment activities for children in grades K-8, promoting learning, character development, and healthy living.
- Provide effective supervision and guidance to ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and inclusivity.
- Prepare lesson plans, ensure materials and supplies are available, and maintain a clean and organized program area.
- Maintain accurate attendance and instructional records, and participate in team meetings and special events.
- Must be at least 17 years of age and/or 5 years older than the oldest child participating in the program.
- High School Diploma or GED, with related college coursework or equivalent experience in childcare, education, or recreation.
- Proven ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model for youth and staff.
- Commitment to the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's mission and values, including a passion for working with diverse youth.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and concisely.
