Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced RN Supervisor to lead our Med Surg unit. In this role, you will provide leadership and direction to nursing and unit-based personnel, ensuring a safe and compassionate care environment for patients, families, and staff. You will assist in managing day-to-day operations, developing staff, and implementing policies to improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate patient care, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and safety protocols
  • Collaborate with inter-professional team members to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Support the Nursing Manager in planning and evaluating department policies, budgets, and staff resources
  • Facilitate performance improvement initiatives and implement evidence-based practice changes
  • Foster a compassionate, therapeutic environment for patients, families, and staff
  • Address diversity and cultural sensitivity in patient care, ensuring personalized treatment for all patients
  • Advocate for patients and staff, ensuring their needs and concerns are heard and addressed
  • Mentor and coach staff, facilitating their professional growth and development
  • Coordinate patient care conferences and interdisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes
  • Manage staffing levels, allocate resources, and coordinate patient throughput to enhance operational efficiency
  • Participate in departmental goal setting, policy updates, and budgeting processes
  • Provide hands-on nursing care as needed, maintaining patient safety and satisfaction
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg or a related field
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a clinical setting
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of nursing practices, medical terminology, and patient care standards
  • Ability to use technology, including electronic medical records and scheduling systems
