Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified English Teacher to join our team at St. Anthony Catholic High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans, preparing students for standardized tests, and providing individualized instruction to students with varying learning styles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the requirements of the curriculum and cater to the needs of students with different learning styles.
  • Prepare students for standardized tests, such as the SAT, and provide additional tutorials or study sessions as needed.
  • Work cooperatively with administrators, department chairs, and other staff members to meet curriculum objectives and improve student outcomes.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing, and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.
  • Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  • Establish and maintain open communication with parents, students, and colleagues through conferences and other means.
  • Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings, staff development activities, and other events as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in English or a related field.
  • Experience working with students at the high school level.
  • Strong technology skills and ability to learn and use interactive technologies to enhance learning.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
  • Teacher certification in English is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in English or a related field.
  • Previous high school teaching experience.
  • Teacher certification in English.
