ED Technician

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate ED Technician to join our team at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. As an ED Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the emergency department team.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic patient care, phlebotomy, and EKGs
- Provide care for the psychosocial needs of patients
- Perform various non-patient care functions associated with the maintenance and operation of the unit
- Collect and document patient data accurately and promptly
- Recognize variances in patient condition and report promptly
- Follow the plan of care and recommend changes to meet the ongoing needs of the patient
- Participate in shift report to meet the individual needs of the patient
- Document data collection, tasks performed, and patient response accurately and appropriately
- Report abnormal data findings immediately
- Provide blood glucose monitoring of patients and notify nursing of results
- Monitor patients receiving blood or blood components
- Monitor patients on fall precautions
- Provide interventions within scope of practice
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a direct patient care role required
- BLS certification and current CNA, EMT-B, or equivalent nursing assistant program certification required upon hire
- Completion of basic arrhythmia course and CPI Advanced training during orientation period required
