East Bay Innovations - Community Support Specialist

Role of a Community Support Specialist:
In this role, you will provide individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their homes and within their communities. EBI serves clients across a diverse age range in Alameda County, focusing on delivering respectful, personalized, and empowering services that encourage clients to engage fully in their communities and lead fulfilling lives.
Compensation: $21.05 per hour
Education Requirement: High School diploma or equivalent
Work Schedule:
This position is ideal for students or individuals seeking part-time or flexible hours. Opportunities are available for daytime, evening, weekend, and overnight shifts, making it a suitable option for those looking for non-traditional hours in the human services field. Initially, this role is part-time, with potential for growth to full-time.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Providing emotional support and companionship
- Engaging in physical activities, such as neighborhood walks
- Facilitating arts and crafts projects
- Participating in virtual events
- Helping clients connect with friends and family online
- Assisting with meal planning and preparation
- Performing light housekeeping tasks
- Offering personal care and assistance
- Facilitating wheelchair transfers
- Accompanying clients on errands, including grocery shopping
- Adapting services to include delivery or pickup options as needed
