Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Utility Systems Specialist to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our utility systems team, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in our electrical and water utility metering systems.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming and experience working with utility metering systems. You will work closely with our operations team to troubleshoot and resolve issues with our metering systems, as well as develop and implement new technologies to improve system efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, and maintain PLCs used in electrical and water utility metering systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with metering systems
  • Develop and implement new technologies to improve system efficiency and reliability
  • Work closely with operations team to ensure smooth operation of metering systems

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and utility metering systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical and water utility metering principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
