Swim Instructor

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director and Swim Lesson Coordinator, the Swim Instructor position is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for members and participants of all ages and skill levels.

• Teach 30-minute group, private, and semi-private swim lessons to children and adults with varying abilities and needs.
• Communicate effectively with the Swim Lesson Coordinator to ensure smooth scheduling and coordination.
• Attend all scheduled staff meetings to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to participants to help them improve their swimming skills.
• Administer swim tests to children to determine their placement in desired sessions.
• Represent the LMU Campus Recreation department in a professional and courteous manner within the pool area.
• Perform other duties as assigned or requested by the Aquatic Director or Swim Lesson Coordinator.

• Typically a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, with Lifeguard and Water Safety Instruction Certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Swim Instructor.
• Knowledge of water hazards, pool safety, lifesaving techniques, and first aid, as well as principles and techniques of swimming and lifesaving.

$16.04 - $24.04, commensurate with education and experience.
