Job Description

The Investment Portfolio Operations & Accounting team at Atlantic Health System is responsible for monitoring and executing all material aspects of the organization's investment portfolios.

This role will report directly to the Director of Investment Strategy and collaborate closely with the accounting team for month-end close.

The successful candidate will provide investment operations, investment accounting, and performance reporting in support of Atlantic Health System's investment pools and affiliated foundation's endowments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate custody operations and prepare supporting documentation for investment transactions.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Custody Information Systems to develop and enhance investment operations and accounting procedures.
  • Perform daily monitoring of investment portfolios and execute operational activities as deemed necessary by the Director of Investment Strategy.
  • Initiate and monitor necessary portfolio asset sales/transfers with the custodian.
  • Manage onboarding process for new investment managers and track funding activities.
  • Assess the accuracy of investment manager fees and maintain detailed records of all investment management fees paid.
  • Ensure vendor payment requests are prepared and processed, and establish accruals for expenses as necessary.
  • Execute payments, including capital calls, and review cash balances for pension obligations.
  • Support and improve the monthly investment performance reporting and due diligence process.
  • Monitor compliance of investment portfolios with established investment manager guidelines.
  • Perform analyses and reconciliations between the Custody Bank and AHS investment managers' reporting.
  • Document period-end portfolio valuation adjustments to support ongoing financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the accounting close and reporting of investments.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant, professional work experience in investment operations or accounting.
  • Knowledge of Custody banking and investment operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting.
