**Job Summary:**
UHY LLP is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Tax Winter Intern. This is a temporary and part-time position that will provide general office support to our Professional departments, including Audit, Tax, SALT, ERAS, and FLVS.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our audit approach, methodology, and tools.
- Learn and practice basic preparation skills for federal and state tax returns.
- Input clients' working trial balance into software and make adjustments as needed.
- Perform analytical review of audit documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Compile, copy, sort, and file documents in a timely and organized manner.
- Compute, record, and proofread data and other information, such as records or reports.
**Required Skills:**
- Active listening and communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and clients.
- Strong reading comprehension skills to understand written documents and instructions.
- Excellent writing skills to communicate effectively in writing.
- Social perceptiveness to understand and respond to the needs of others.
- Basic mathematics skills to solve problems and perform calculations.
- Proficiency in operating spreadsheet, word processing, and email programs.
**Education and Experience:**
We require a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and no prior experience. Enrollment in an accounting program at an accredited college or university is also required.
