Job Summary

Spitzer Industries is seeking a highly skilled Assembly Technician Class III to join our team. As an Assembly Technician Class III, you will be responsible for producing high-quality components by assembling parts and subassemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand and follow safety policies and procedures of the shop.
  • Conform to shop quality practices and procedures.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, drawings, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources if needed.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs.
  • Practice good housekeeping skills and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
Requirements
  • Ability to follow shop procedures, quality procedures, and safety practices.
  • Must have verbal skills with fluency for the responsibilities assigned.
  • Five plus years of experience in assembly is preferred.
  • Skilled trade – Millwright and Screw pipe.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment.
  • Owns tools to complete job tasks.
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting P&ID's and GA's.
  • Works with minimal supervision.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Spends 100% of time in the shop.
  • Exposure to possible shop hazards including but not limited to welding fumes, welding arc flash, skin irritation, high noise level, debris from welding, grinding, and possible exposure to hazards that would be considered typical in a fabrication industry.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs. Standing 80% of the time, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, and heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling while handling material not exceeding forty-five pounds.
