Metalsa is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join its team. As a key member of the HR department, you will be responsible for managing labor affairs and employee relations in a unionized manufacturing setting.

Job Overview

This role is perfect for a professional with a strong background in HR, labor relations, and employee engagement. You will lead the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistent treatment of employees and foster productive working relationships with the UAW and other stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and foster positive labor relations with the UAW and all levels of employees;
  • Develop and implement policies to ensure fair treatment of employees;
  • Coordinate initiatives to encourage employee feedback and engagement;
  • Train management on HR policies, procedures, and labor laws;
  • Investigate and resolve employee issues; and
  • Manage local labor contracts, including negotiations and administration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field and minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing setting;
  • PHR or SHRM CP certification preferred;
  • Knowledge of State and Federal laws, FMLA and Medical Leave Administration, and benefits and payroll knowledge;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills;
  • Comfortable with change and adaptability;
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information;
  • Commitment to ensuring a positive work environment and promoting diversity and inclusion;
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the organization;
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
