Job Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated nurse to join our team at Asheville Detox Center.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in a 16-bed ambulatory detox facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for clients and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Emphasize preventative care and disease management
  • Facilitate COWS, CIWA, vital assessments every four hours for clients
  • Complete intake nursing assessments
  • Administer medication, including those for detox protocols, psychiatric care, and medical conditions
  • Facilitate medical orders
  • Interpret Urinalysis results and provide reports for client's medical records
  • Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements
  • Respond quickly in the case of a medical emergency, following facility protocols
  • Participate in all provided, required training, as outlined by facility protocol, Joint Commission standards and other local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, observations, and incidents in electronic health records
  • Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including counselors, medical and support staff as needed, to ensure comprehensive care for clients
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall efficiency of the facility
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • BLS Certification
  • Valid, unencumbered nursing license
  • Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress
