Position Overview
The Culinary Specialist plays a vital role in our food service operations, ensuring that all dining areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition while assisting with meal preparation and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food service areas.
- Assist in food preparation and serving in both the dining room and through room service.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to tasks and make independent decisions when necessary.
- Manage the dietary department in the absence of supervisory staff.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting dietary services.
- Support the dietary manager in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.
- Utilize resources efficiently to minimize waste and conserve supplies.
- Receive and store food and supplies appropriately, ensuring quality and safety.
- Prepare and serve meals according to established menus and dietary requirements.
- Conduct taste tests to ensure food quality and presentation.
- Ensure timely meal preparation and service for all residents.
- Maintain accurate records of menu substitutions and dietary changes.
- Engage in continuous learning and training opportunities.
- Keep work areas clean and organized, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Foster positive communication with staff, residents, and their families.
- Process new dietary orders and maintain updated tray cards.
- Adhere to the department's dress code and professional standards.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
