ScopeLutheran's Acuity Adaptable Unit provides care to a diverse population of patients, addressing a wide range of medical issues including diabetes, infectious diseases, gastroenterological, respiratory, and kidney disorders. The unit operates using an acuity adaptable model, which allows for a dynamic nursing skill mix to meet the changing needs of patients. This approach enables the delivery of tailored care, bringing resources to the patient rather than requiring the patient to travel to receive treatment.

This 64-bed unit is a dynamic environment that fosters learning opportunities for nurses to develop their skills and expertise. The team consists of experienced professionals who share their knowledge and work collaboratively to achieve quality patient outcomes. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of your patients, working with them to identify and address their physical and psychological needs.

Responsibilities:
• Foster quality patient care through assessment, recognition, and effective management of patients' needs
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique requirements
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
• Participate in clinical team conferences to discuss patient progress, address concerns, and refine care strategies
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care

Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification is mandatory
• A Registered Nurse with an ASN/ADN degree must complete a BSN degree within four years from the date of hire unless they possess a minimum of fifteen years of continuous experience in an acute care setting

Work Environment:
Nurses in this role can expect a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Manual dexterity and ability to lift, push, or pull equipment are necessary, as well as strong communication and problem-solving skills. The ability to navigate crowded rooms, walk long distances, and stand for extended periods is also required.
