Shipfitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Shipfitter to construct, assemble, and repair metal structures and parts of ships, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs on ship structures and components, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Tack Welding: Execute tack welding tasks to temporarily hold components in place during the fitting and assembly process.
  • Cutting and Shaping: Use cutting tools and equipment to shape and prepare metal parts for assembly.
  • Fitting and Alignment: Accurately fit and align metal parts according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide the construction and repair processes.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Shipfitter or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in tack welding, cutting, and fitting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
