US Foods, Inc. is a leading food distributor that requires a highly skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our team in fleet maintenance.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician who will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of road equipment, including tractors, trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Salary and BenefitsThe salary for this role is estimated at $26.00 per hour, which is competitive in the industry.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and life insurance, as well as a retention bonus of $5,000 for eligible new hires.
Job Description- Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
- Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list, and parts accountability.
- Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.
- Must have 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic or reefer experience.
- Or 2 years of diesel mechanic experience with TK or refrigeration certification.
