We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food processing equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical and mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to identify and resolve equipment problems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment, including installation and testing of new equipment.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational diploma or technical degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with ability to read and execute work orders and write daily reports.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to interact effectively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
