Role Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Production Laboratory Technician to become a vital part of our Analytical Operations team. This role involves executing a range of technical laboratory procedures.
Your responsibilities will include operating sensitive instruments to analyze samples, conducting tests, and documenting results for laboratory management. You will work collaboratively with your colleagues to ensure smooth daily operations, enhance laboratory processes, and deliver accurate results that are essential to our products and customers.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in handling potentially hazardous materials, adhere to safety and quality standards, and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
This position operates on the first shift (Monday-Friday, typically 8am-5pm or as business needs dictate).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests following established protocols and report any deviations or anomalies.
- Manage the organization, storage, and disposal of chemical substances, fluids, and gases in accordance with safety regulations.
- Accurately record all data and results in designated controlled forms to ensure traceability.
- Maintain a clean and orderly workspace in compliance with safety guidelines (5S Principles).
- Support laboratory personnel by ensuring glassware, logs, and records are well-maintained in a fast-paced environment.
- Oversee laboratory supply inventory by placing orders, confirming receipt, and ensuring proper storage.
- Document daily activities and maintain equipment records.
- Identify and resolve issues by analyzing data and determining corrective actions.
- Contribute to team projects and participate in group meetings.
- Enhance personal knowledge through educational opportunities and technical literature.
- Pursue operational excellence, foster collaboration, and promote a positive team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with prior experience in handling hazardous materials in a laboratory setting (Associate's Degree in a relevant field and/or cleanroom experience preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with both electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment.
- General understanding of quality systems and laboratory best practices.
- Knowledge of safe handling and disposal procedures for hazardous substances.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently while also being a team player.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Familiarity with MS Office (especially Excel) and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
