Overview & Responsibilities:
The Healthcare Technician administers medications and treatments, monitors vital signs and weight, and performs various health service tasks. This role collaborates with physicians, implements medical orders, and documents essential information. The Healthcare Technician also works closely with home health, hospice, and emergency protocols, acting as the facility supervisor in the absence of management staff. Additionally, this position supervises resident assistants to ensure the completion of daily responsibilities, reporting directly to the Facility Registered Nurse or Administrator.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

- Perform all responsibilities within the scope of practice as per state or provincial regulations

- Administer medications and treatments

- Measure vital signs and weight

- Collect, store, and ensure the transport of specific specimens for laboratory analysis

- Adhere to all medication room systems in accordance with policy

Qualifications:

Specific Skills:
- Dependability and reliability in attendance and punctuality

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

- Completion of state-required training where applicable

Requirements:
- Must receive the annual Flu vaccine, with exceptions for religious or medical reasons.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, reach, stoop, or sit for extended periods

- Capability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects/people weighing over 50lbs

- Work for sustained periods while maintaining focused attention to safety, detail, and accuracy

- Show sincere compassion towards older adults, demonstrating genuine concern for their physical and emotional needs. Display a team spirit in daily duties.

- Exhibit a high level of personal integrity and professionalism.


Be friendly, courteous, patient, and understanding while working well with others, including team members, residents, and families. Organize and prioritize the workload effectively.
