Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise hourly staff in the shipping department.
  • Monitor employee performance, growth, engagement, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards as well as 5S methodologies.
  • Uphold quality system compliance and the proper implementation of established processes and procedures.
  • Engage with customers to resolve shipment inquiries and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Optimize daily and weekly workload and resource allocation.
  • Oversee shipment process performance and inventory control.
  • Lead daily kickoff meetings and formulate action plans to eliminate obstacles.
  • Identify training requirements and manage team versatility.
  • Ensure service levels, quality, environmental standards, process lead times, and productivity targets are achieved.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all direct reports within the department.
Qualifications for Success:
  • A Bachelor's degree in business, management, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution or manufacturing is required.
  • Understanding of inventory and supply chain management principles.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems (preferably SAP), and data entry software.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
