RWJBarnabas Health is on the lookout for a committed Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Step Down Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center. Our facility boasts a robust team of over 700 physicians and 2,100 staff members, providing cutting-edge care for a diverse range of medical conditions. Our recent expansion includes a state-of-the-art 87,000 square foot building featuring a modern Intensive Care Unit and enhanced patient services.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Competent computer skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in Telemetry or Critical Care nursing
  • CCRN certification

Required Certifications and Licenses:

  • BLS and ACLS Certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License

Scheduling Details:

  • Day Shift, 7a-7p, hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, alternating weekends and rotating holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care within the framework established by the Nurse Practice Act and adheres to regulatory standards, ensuring ethical practice as outlined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Ensures safety in practice and embraces evidence-based principles by recognizing personal knowledge and experience levels, while striving to enhance the understanding of self and the patient care team through effective communication and resource utilization.
  • Responsible for reporting safety concerns such as hazardous conditions and medical errors.
  • Maintains knowledge of the patient demographic served.
  • Supervises and directs task delegation to appropriate team members, collaborating with other healthcare providers.
  • Consistently prioritizes and evaluates interventions with measurable outcomes aimed at improvement.
  • Acts as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to tailor care plans to meet specific patient needs.
