Class C Mechanic Specialist

We are searching for a highly skilled Class C Mechanic to work at our Bronx location. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks on various types of trucks and trailers. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 3:30 pm - 12 am.
Job Overview:
Under the direction of a Supervisor, Lead Technician, or a Class A Mechanic, you will perform minor repairs and all aspects of preventive maintenance on industrial trucks, light-duty truck tank trucks, tractors, tank trailers, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Read written job and/or oral job orders and document malfunctions, damage, and repairs.
- Communicate orally and document tasks in writing (including computer documentation).
- Perform simple mechanical repairs as directed by the supervisor or assigned mechanics.
- Assist higher-level mechanics when and where directed.
- Performs clean-up duties in the shop and yard areas as directed.
- Secures parts and tools for assigned mechanics as directed.
- May be called upon to perform any of the lesser-skilled jobs in the shop and yard area.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Demonstrated ability and experience performing tasks outlined above with supervision on various truck and trailer types.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-Secondary Degree, Technical Certification, or Vocational Certification preferred.
- Basic tools required.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of computers to operate diagnostic test equipment and company software programs proficiently.
