Position Overview:
Klassic Recruiting is collaborating with a client to identify a dedicated and skilled Staff Accountant. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic settings and are eager to contribute to a developing organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the aggregation of expenses into fixed asset accounts associated with IT initiatives.
2. Serve as the primary resource for IT expenditure queries, ensuring compliance with the latest guidelines on capital versus expense classifications.
3. Execute data entry tasks to accurately document capital expenditures, including the establishment of new assets and managing requests for asset transfers or retirements.
4. Maintain and update cost and accumulated depreciation accounts.
5. Reconcile balance sheet accounts tied to capital expenditures and ensure alignment between the fixed asset sub-ledger and the general ledger.
6. Prepare and record accrual journal entries during the month-end closing process.
7. Analyze P&L transactions for designated accounts and create necessary corrective entries and accruals.
8. Provide support in addressing P&L inquiries from the field operations team.
9. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to supply required documentation and schedules.
10. Work closely with the Accounts Payable, Restaurant Accounting, and IT departments to fulfill job responsibilities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
- At least 2 years of accounting experience
- Proven experience in Fixed Asset Accounting
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly regarding asset capitalization
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously while maintaining communication with supervisors
- Proficient in personal computer applications, especially spreadsheets (intermediate to advanced Excel skills)
- Previous experience with PeopleSoft is advantageous but not mandatory
- Demonstrates a customer-service-oriented approach, fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders.
