Job Summary:

As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality diagnostic images of the human anatomy and vasculature. Under indirect supervision, you will utilize advanced MRI equipment to acquire images that aid physicians in diagnosing disease processes and pathology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, as well as applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Observe and adhere to regional, medical center, and department policies and procedures.
  • Assess patient data and interpret relevant information to identify individual needs and provide care in accordance with department policy.
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas in accordance with department guidelines.
Essential Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for:

  • Interviewing patients to explain MRI procedures, obtain patient history, and conduct imaging screens.
  • Correlating requested exams with patient history and diagnosis.
  • Selecting and applying imaging parameters to obtain optimal MR images.
  • Recognizing and correcting artifacts, and modifying protocols as needed.
  • Applying special applications of MR, such as contrast agents and MR angiography.
Requirements:
  • Two years of clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care medical center.
  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program in radiological technology and an on-the-job or formal training program in cross-sectional anatomy and MRI.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California) and Radiologic Technologist Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of clinical experience as an MRI Technologist in an acute care medical center.
  • Experience with GE MRI systems and additional training in MRI practices.
  • Advanced Certification in MRI issued by the ARRT.
