Amergis is seeking a skilled Correctional RN to join our team. As a Correctional RN, you will work in collaboration with healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrators to ensure the well-being of the incarcerated population.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
- Perform focused interviews to identify specific patient needs
- Assess signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient's condition
- Conduct health histories on newly-admitted inmates
- Make referrals to staff physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, or mental health professionals as necessary
- Determine the need for emergency hospital care and ensure that all medication is administered in accordance with standard operating procedures
- Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
- Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred
- Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
