Position Summary:
The role of the Blood Donation Specialist involves medical screening, phlebotomy, and donor care within our service area, adhering to established protocols and policies. You will play a vital role in supporting community blood needs by encouraging donations based on current requirements and donor eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive donor screenings and medical history interviews.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures for whole blood and apheresis donations.
- Ensure safe transportation of staff and supplies to various donation sites.
- Maintain regulatory compliance through timely training and competency assessments.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing donor inquiries and feedback.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License; phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.
Working Conditions:
- Work primarily in mobile units or office environments, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- May require occasional travel and overnight stays.
