Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Machinist I to join our team at Turbocam International. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our 5-axis lathe machines, as well as performing various support processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate 5-axis lathe machines to produce high-quality machined products.
  • Inspect and maintain finish tools to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform basic TruePath and Mastercam operations to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with product development engineers, programmers, and tooling department to design and implement cutting tools and tooling.
  • Maintain fixtures and set-ups for use in specified projects, as assigned by the product development engineer or supervisor.
  • Monitor machine performance and report any issues to the maintenance department for prompt resolution.
  • Document all operations in accordance with the Quality Manual and product development engineer requirements.
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support overall shop efficiency by maintaining a clean and safe work environment, reporting hazards or incidents to the supervisor, and coordinating with other machinists for shared equipment usage.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Associates degree in machining or approved apprenticeship program preferred.
  • 2 or more years' experience as a CNC Mill operator and/or Lathe operator, including basic set-up.
  • Basic understanding of trigonometry.
  • Intermediate level in MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel, and ERP software (Epicor helpful).
  • Good knowledge of GD&T and ANSI Y 14.5.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and use of metrology tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. or more and stand for extended periods.
