Culinary Director Position Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director and Corporate Director of Food and Beverage, the Culinary Director will oversee the overall functioning of the dietary department. This role requires excellent cooking skills, interpersonal relationship skills, problem-solving and logic skills, and excellent communication skills with a compassion for older adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook Resident's meals to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to our residents.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and Corporate Culinary Team to maintain dietary operations within budget.
  • Recruit, hire, and train qualified dietary staff.
  • Maintain proper food handling techniques and sanitation requirements in the food service area.
  • Oversee the proper use of dietary equipment and perform emergency procedures as needed.
  • Perform welcome orientations with new residents and engage in prospective resident visits.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance and proficiency with software applications used by American House.
Requirements
  • Excellent cooking skills and experience in dietary/food service techniques.
  • Interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work with older adults.
  • Problem-solving and logic skills to maintain dietary operations within budget.
  • Excellent communication skills and compassion for older adults.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Serve Safe Certification.
