Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our team at Westhab, Inc. in Bronx, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of our property and building systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and communicate maintenance needs to the supervisor
  • Supervise building systems and respond to emergencies in a timely manner
  • Perform light electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work as needed
  • Document tenant damage and report incidents to the supervisor
  • Perform daily custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning windows and glass in common areas
  • Assist in grounds work and maintain yard and garbage areas
  • Participate in standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage
  • Responsible for stock and inventory control of property
  • Periodically inspect all units, building common areas, and repair as needed
  • Maintain adequate lighting throughout the building, common areas, basement, and yards
Requirements

High School Diploma or GED with two years of experience in a related field. Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 lbs. Should have some form of training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and other trade skills. A certificate in boiler maintenance is preferred.
