Job Description

Softcom Systems Inc is seeking an experienced Aerospace Engineer to join our team in Richardson, TX. As a Stress Engineer, you will be responsible for performing complex stress analysis of aircraft structures.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in stress analysis and experience with finite element methods. They will also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Stress Analysis: Perform static, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis for aircraft structures using classical hand calculation approaches and finite element models.
  • Load Extraction: Extract loads from finite element models and determine critical failure modes.
  • Structural Integrity: Ensure the structural integrity of both metallic and composite structures.
  • Disposition Determination: Determine dispositions for structural non-conformances.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, materials, and manufacturing engineering.

We are offering a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and at least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry as a Stress Engineer.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry as a Stress Engineer.
  • Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of stress analysis of aerostructures, hands-on experience with finite element post-processing tools (e.g., PATRAN).
