Lighthouse Therapeutic Services is seeking a highly motivated Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. This role involves facilitating group therapy sessions for our Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program. Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individual counseling services to clients receiving treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. They will also be expected to develop and implement person-centered treatment plans, complete clinical/biopsychosocial assessments, and conduct regular and random urine drug screenings of patients.

  • The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Theory and Practice of Individual, Group and Family Counseling as pertaining to those with Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders.
  • They will also have experience with Care Coordination for Substance Use and other relevant areas.

A Bachelor's Degree in a human services field with CSAC certification is required, while a Master's Degree with active licensure to practice in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, or other LMHP) is preferred. Knowledge of various Substance Use inventories/assessments and other relevant areas is essential.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree with active license to practice in Virginia (LPC, LCSW, or other LMHP); knowledge of ASAM criteria, DSM 5 diagnostic criteria, and other relevant areas.
