Chief Engineer

Job Summary

The Chief Engineer is a key member of the hotel operations team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel's physical plant. This includes overseeing the maintenance and repair of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Management
  • Lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff to ensure the hotel's physical plant is operating at optimal levels.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the hotel's systems are maintained and repaired in a timely and efficient manner.
• Technical Expertise
  • Have a strong understanding of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Be able to diagnose and repair complex technical issues.
• Communication and Collaboration
  • Work closely with other hotel departments to ensure the hotel's systems are operating in a way that supports the overall guest experience.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, staff, and management to ensure that any technical issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
• Financial Management
  • Develop and manage the hotel's maintenance budget to ensure that all necessary repairs and maintenance are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the hotel's maintenance operations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field, with previous supervisory experience required.
• A strong understanding of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
