Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing leadership to the Aquatics Program, ensuring a safe and positive atmosphere for participants. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of swimming and water safety skills, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to participants and their families
• Maintain a clean and safe facility, adhering to all pool rules and regulations
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of participants of all ages and skill levels
• Communicate regularly with participants and their families to ensure progress and satisfaction
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
• Participate in regular in-service training sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16
• Thorough knowledge and application of swimming and water safety skills
• Leadership, public service, communication, and decision-making skills
• Certification as an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, YMCA Progressive Swim Lesson Instructor, or equivalent

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to respond quickly to emergencies. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a team environment and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
