Respiratory Therapist

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Artesia General Hospital, you will play a vital role in assessing and providing necessary treatment for patients with respiratory and cardiac difficulties. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Draw blood for ABG and understand related machines
- Perform EKG, SVN treatments, and BiPAP/CPAP therapy
- Administer proper drug and oxygen therapy
- Provide and maintain ventilation equipment
- Evaluate patients regarding auscultation, SAO2 readings, and oral interview techniques
- Assist with intubations
- Perform outpatient studies as needed
- Participate in patient education
- Maintain all records pertinent to patient care
As assigned by management.
Requirements:- Requires thorough knowledge of the cardiopulmonary system
- Skills as required for RRT/CRT license
Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
Information Management:Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety:Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
Minimum Position Qualifications:- Education - Graduate of an accredited respiratory program recognized by the NBRC and AARC
- Work Experience - N/A
- Training - per licensure
- License/Certification - Current State of New Mexico CRT and/or RRT; BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood or other body fluids.
