Job Summary

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and clinical services of the pharmacy department. This includes managing personnel, budgeting resources, and ensuring compliance with quality, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and manage the activities of all department employees, including hiring and training new employees.
    • Evaluate pharmacy services and patient outcomes, developing or updating services and resources to achieve department and organizational goals.
  • Compliance and Accreditation
    • Ensure pharmacy compliance with all state and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
    • Develop and implement a process to resolve and monitor complaints and adverse events.
  • Clinical and Quality Services
    • Provide oversight, development, and implementation of clinical and quality pharmacy services and programs.
    • Develop and maintain a system for documentation, assessment protocols, and presentation of clinical interventions.
  • Professional Development
    • Develop and maintain a process for individual professional growth and development.
    • Support department-based goals and contribute to the success of the organization.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • Certifications
    • Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Experience
    • Five (5) years pharmacy experience required OR completion PGY1/PGY2 residency in Pharmacy Administration.
  • Skills
    • Knowledge of pharmacy and hospital computer systems and computer-assisted devices.
    • Familiarity with health care reimbursement environment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.
