POSITION OVERVIEW

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for delivering essential daily care and support to residents, including assistance with feeding, bathing, dressing, exercising, toileting, and ensuring overall comfort.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties outline the primary responsibilities of this role. This list is not exhaustive, and additional tasks may be assigned as necessary. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring proper feeding, bathing, dressing, exercising, and toileting.
  • Notify nursing staff of any changes in residents' conditions or other significant observations.
  • Respond promptly to residents' requests for assistance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in resident areas according to The Oaks at Bartlett standards.
  • Support residents during transfers by adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service while interacting with residents and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Engage positively with residents throughout the shift.
  • Assist with resident activities as needed.
  • Comply with all professional standards, policies, and procedures, and adhere to Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, candidates must be recognized as a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing in the State of Illinois.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in a skilled nursing environment is preferred.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
  • Ability to provide patient-centered care.
  • Capability to identify unusual or emergency situations requiring intervention.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team settings and independently.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and following both written and verbal instructions.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to assist residents in wheelchairs weighing up to 300 lbs.
  • Capacity to stand, walk, push, pull, bend, stoop, reach, and balance while carrying supplies.
