Speech-Language Pathologist Job Description

Location: Pennsylvania

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: Soliant is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to students in the Monongahela Valley School District. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and a Pennsylvania state license. Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy to students individually or in groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations.
  • Conduct screenings and provide consultations as needed.
  • Stay current with best practices and research in speech-language pathology.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Pennsylvania state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification for Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
