Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Wheelchair Van Driver to join our team at H&M Transport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from their homes, appointments, dialysis, and discharges from hospitals.

Responsibilities
  • Pick up clients at their homes or other living facilities and provide assistance to safely board clients and caregivers.
  • Transport clients to area hospitals and other authorized clinics, ensuring wheelchairs and passengers are properly secured.
  • Assist clients in exiting the vehicle and reaching the proper offices or treatment areas upon arrival at medical facilities.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and exterior through our car wash membership.
  • Follow company safety and operational policies and procedures.
  • Operate mobile devices, company email, various software, and company GPS units.
  • Perform pre/post-vehicle inspection and maintenance checks via company software.
  • Follow safety protocol during loading and unloading procedures.
  • Communicate transport details with dispatch in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess a friendly and courteous attitude when transporting clients.
Requirements
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, MVR screening, and background check.
  • Report to work on time and in proper provided uniform.
  • Maintain a strong attendance and timeliness record.
  • Safely operate a wheelchair passenger transportation vehicle.
  • Must be patient during necessary contact with clients and their caregivers.
  • Must be reliable, capable of working independently, and remain calm in the event of an emergency.
  • Must be able to drive for extended periods of time and long-distance trips while maintaining company standards.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be capable of driving in inclement weather.
  • Must be flexible for on-call rotations after hours, holidays, and weekends.
