Cryo-Electron Microscopy Facility Manager

As the Facility Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of this facility and providing exceptional support to our users.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare samples and operate the electron microscope to collect high-quality data
Maintain the facility's equipment and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements
Provide training and support to users, including negative staining, cryo-EM, and image processing
Collaborate with the Faculty Director and core users to allocate time and resources, ensuring efficient use of the facility
Minimum Hiring Standards:
Master's degree in structural biology or a related field, with at least two years of hands-on experience in cryo-EM and image processing
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Preferred Hiring Standards:
Ph.D. with extensive experience in cryo-EM and image processing, including publications in top-tier journals
Experience with hardware and software maintenance, including Linux systems and cryo-EM image processing/model building software
Prior experience in a centralized core facility or shared resource, preferably at a managerial level
