The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking a highly skilled Tribal Liaison to join our team. As a key member of our Environmental Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal and state historic preservation laws and overseeing our tribal consultation program.

• Ensure compliance with federal and state historic preservation laws and regulations.
• Oversee INDOT's tribal consultation program, including developing and implementing strategies to engage with tribal communities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on tribal-related matters.
• Develop and maintain relationships with tribal leaders and representatives to foster trust and cooperation.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance to INDOT staff on tribal-related issues.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform tribal consultation and compliance efforts.

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in environmental management, tribal relations, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state historic preservation laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
