Position Overview & Requirements- Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit

- Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Shift Length: 12 hours
All candidates must submit a valid copy of their driver's license. The unit comprises 30 beds, including both private and semi-private rooms. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. The ideal nurse will be familiar with patient ratios, typically aiming for 1:4, but may occasionally handle up to 1:6 patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, ensuring a high level of patient care.
- Administer and titrate various IV medications as needed.
- Collaborate with respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care effectively.
- Participate in self-scheduling while meeting unit needs.
- Engage in floating to other units as required, maintaining flexibility in patient care assignments.
Work Environment: Nurses are expected to wear navy blue scrubs and adhere to hospital policies regarding attire. The facility operates with a supportive team structure, including charge nurses and clinical assistants to aid in patient management.
