Position Overview:
Aureus Medical Group - Imaging is in search of a traveling Nuclear Medicine Specialist to fulfill a role that involves providing exceptional patient care in the field of nuclear medicine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and advanced nuclear medicine examinations for patients across all age groups to assist in determining necessary treatments.
  • Modify procedures to achieve specific diagnostic outcomes under the supervision of a radiologist.

Essential Duties:
  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in accordance with established guidelines and standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in diagnostic imaging and radionuclide therapy.
  • Manage scheduling, order radiopharmaceuticals, and prepare patients as required.
  • Administer and document all radiopharmaceuticals accurately.
  • Maintain high-quality care throughout procedures while adhering to radiation protection protocols.
  • Conduct necessary equipment quality control and maintain records.
  • Comply with all regulations related to radioactive materials and safety documentation.
  • Possess the knowledge and skills to obtain adequate lab specimens for testing.
  • Perform bedside lab testing and ensure compliance with medical orders and hospital policies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of equipment and procedures across multiple areas of the department.
  • Exhibit technical knowledge of equipment operation and troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment, managing supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Handle radioactive packages and prepare doses for use while managing waste appropriately.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in patient handling and safety.
  • Support the Nuclear Medicine/PET Department to meet patient needs and expectations.
  • Take responsibility for training and mentoring fellow technologists and students.
  • Process films and paperwork promptly to ensure timely reporting.
  • Facilitate patient flow to ensure efficient care and transport as needed.
  • Accurately enter patient information into the RIS system and maintain medical records.
  • Participate in QA, QC, and QI programs, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, fostering a respectful and productive environment.

Qualifications:
  • Specialty/Modality: Nuclear Medicine
  • Licenses/Certifications: CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support), State License-Nuclear Medicine Tech-Illinois

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift between 50-100 lbs.
