About the Role

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in Ambulatory Oncology. As a New-to-Specialty RN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the transition of experienced nurses into this complex care setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs, and develop a plan of care based on their disease, symptoms, and response to treatment.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on disease processes, treatment, side effects, and symptom management.
  • Coordinate with the inter-disciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Refer patients, families, and caregivers to other clinical resources as needed.
  • Implement, evaluate, and modify the plan of care.
  • Integrate research and evidence-based knowledge into clinical practice.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license or multistate RN license.
  • Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent course).
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to exercise clinical judgment in patient care scenarios.
  • Ability to organize and manage time and tasks independently.
  • Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • 2+ years of nursing experience working closely with an interdisciplinary team in complex care settings.
