We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components, including substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and fire-walls.
- Develop and review bid/construction packages for substation projects.
- Lead and mentor junior staff members, and contribute to bids and proposal development.
- Take a responsible engineer role on main client projects, overseeing the work and ensuring quality control on design packages.
- Site-visits to client substation facilities and occasional travel for client meetings and industry-related events.
- Bachelors of Science (BS) or Masters (MS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
- PE Licensure preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint & MATHCAD software.
- Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.
- Willingness to travel, up to 25%.
Leidos offers a competitive salary range of $68,000 - $124,550.00, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, opportunities for professional growth and development, and a commitment to quality and excellence.
