The Electrical Estimator is responsible for managing bid requests, serving as a project coordinator, and handling service calls as necessary. This role is essential in ensuring accurate estimations and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret bids, quotes, technical documentation, and relevant regulations at various governmental levels.
  • Draft reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals to support project documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with personnel at all levels, as well as with vendors and their representatives.
  • Calculate material and labor costs, including applicable discounts, and interpret financial metrics such as percentages and margins.
  • Log and verify incoming bids and specifications.
  • Assess the feasibility of responding to bids and compute pricing structures.
  • Prepare bid summaries for managerial review and approval prior to submission.
  • Generate reports detailing bid responses and outcomes.
  • Conduct service calls as required and perform additional related duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman's card.
  • 2-3 years of experience in electrical estimation.
  • Familiarity with estimating software is preferred.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to read and comprehend electrical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic algebra.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Capability to travel to job sites for project reviews.
  • Ability to perform residential and light commercial service calls as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical or industrial construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
  • Consistent attendance history.
