Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Engineer II to join our team at Bank Midwest, N A. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, documenting, and maintaining web/mobile and backend services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aiding in designing, developing, deploying, documenting, and maintaining web/mobile and backend services.
  • Mentoring junior team members and collaborating closely with product, design, and architecture teams to translate business requirements and user interface designs into robust code components.
  • Participating in assessing technical feasibility and estimating feature complexity along with your engineering team driven by product priorities.
  • Conducting user interface, design, and code reviews, advocating for and promoting best practices and standards.
  • Liaising with cross-functional teams to deliver product priorities from discovery through delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in full stack development with proficiency in multiple programming languages such as JavaScript (Node.js, React, Angular, etc.), preferred in a bank setting.
  • Strong understanding and application of software engineering best practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and coding standards.
  • Ability to refactor codebase to improve readability, performance, and maintainability.
  • Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Proficiency with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and ORM technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure code reliability and stability.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or certification related to field.
  • Experience developing modern frontend apps using React framework.
  • Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization mechanisms.
  • Excellent presentation skills for communicating both business-oriented solutions and advanced technical concepts.
  • Experience in the FinTech space.
  • Been part of product journey from discovery to delivery.

Work Environment:

Remote office environment, manager permitting, with traditional hours.

Sitting for extended periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).

Must be able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).

Must be able to work overtime to the extent necessary.

Must be able to travel - estimated at 5% to 10% of the time.
